Installed and activated Really Simple Social but shares have not returned

If you have installed and activated Really Simple Social, but shares have not been recovered, there are a few steps you can take.

First, make sure the plugin is active.

If the plugin is active, but not doing recovery on a page, there will be a string in your html:
data-rsssl-social=0

If this is the case, you might need to check the data option in settings/ssl.

If it is active, and doing recovery, it is
data-rsssl-social=1

Active and doing recovery, but shares are not recovered

If this is the case, it is recommended to enable the og:url option in settings/ssl

Please try also if it helps to clear the Facebook cache on this page: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/batch/

Last option: customization

If it is active, and your likes are not recovered, please submit a support ticket, and supply us with the following information

  • a page where you know you have likes on the http domain, but they are not showing now
  • a screenshot with highlighted where the likes should show.
  • If applicable, a zip file with the plugin you are using for the likes.

Then we can try to adjust the code of the social plugin so it works for your particular situation as well.
