Mixed content from a domain image source caused by a 404 redirect to homepage

The following will only apply if you have mixed content on your site. If your site shows the secure lock, this notice can be safely dismissed by pressing the X button or the ‘dismiss’ link.

In some cases, you can see an image with a source of http://yourdomain.com causing a mixed content error. If this is the case, it’s likely that your site redirects 404 errors to the homepage. For example, the image http://yourdomain.com/flowers.jpg cannot be found. Normally that will result in a 404 error. However, because a plugin redirects 404 errors to the homepage the browser tells you that an image with a source of http://yourdomain.com cannot be found. The real image path is hidden because of the redirect, making it impossible to locate the real source of the issue.

To locate the image that causes the 404 redirect you can disable the 404 redirect to homepage plugin and re-check your browser’s developer console. If you need any further assistance, do not hesitate to send us a message.
