The User Profile Picture plugin used in WordPress has a security vulnerability that affects all versions up to 2.6.1. This vulnerability, known as Insecure Direct Object Reference, occurs when the ‘rest_api_change_profile_image’ function does not properly check for user-controlled data. This means that people with Author-level access or higher can change the profile picture of any user, even if they are not authorized to do so.
