Input validation vulnerability in Modern Footnotes 1.4.16

The Modern Footnotes plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to a type of cyber attack called Stored Cross-Site Scripting. Due to a security issue with the plugin’s shortcode, versions 1.4.16 and earlier are especially at risk. This means that anyone with a contributor-level permission or higher can inject malicious web scripts into pages. This script will then run when someone visits the page.
