The Hero Mega Menu plugin, which is used for creating responsive menus on WordPress websites, has a security vulnerability known as Reflected Cross-Site Scripting. This means that in versions 1.16.5 and below, there is a lack of protection for input and output of website code, allowing hackers to inject their own code onto a webpage. If a user falls for a trick, such as clicking on a malicious link, this code can be executed without authentication.
