Input validation vulnerability in Highlight Searched Terms in Results 1.03

The Highlight Searched Terms in Results plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to a type of attack called Reflected Cross-Site Scripting. This type of attack can allow unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts into pages displayed to users. The vulnerability exists in all versions of the plugin up to version 1.03 and is caused by the plugin not properly sanitizing user input or properly escaping output. This means that a user can be tricked into clicking a malicious link which will then execute any malicious code it contains.
