The GistPress plugin (a plugin used in WordPress) had a security issue before version 3.0.2. This issue allowed users with the WordPress Contributor role to execute malicious code with the same privileges as other users (who have the ‘publish_posts’ capability). This malicious code could have serious consequences if not fixed.
