Access violation vulnerability in Charitable – Donation Plugin for WordPress – Fundraising with Recurring Donations & More 1.8.1.14

A popular plugin for raising funds and donations on WordPress, called “Donation Forms by Charitable”, has a security issue that affects all versions up to 1.8.1.14. This means that the plugin doesn’t properly check a user’s identity when the ID parameter is given in the update_core_user() function. This allows unauthorized individuals to change the email and password of any user account, including administrators. This can then be used to access those accounts.
