Input validation vulnerability in Akismet Anti-Spam: Spam Protection 2.0.1

The Akismet Spam Protection plugin for WordPress was vulnerable to a type of malicious attack called Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions before 2.0.2. This means that attackers were able to insert malicious code into pages which would run when a user visited the page. This was possible because the plugin did not properly sanitize input or escape output.
