The Easy Digital Downloads plugin for WordPress has a security vulnerability in versions 3.1.1.4.2 and earlier. This is because the plugin does not have the correct protection in place when it comes to upgrading. An unauthenticated attacker could send a malicious link to a site administrator which, if clicked, would initiate an upgrade. This would allow the attacker to take control of the website.
