Input validation vulnerability in Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent 5.2.4

A popular plugin for WordPress called “The Real Cookie Banner: GDPR & ePrivacy Cookie Consent” has a security issue. This issue affects all versions up to and including 5.2.4. The problem is that the plugin doesn’t properly check the user-provided URL in the “/scanner/scan-without-login” REST API endpoint. This means that hackers with high-level access can manipulate the plugin to make requests to other websites and potentially access sensitive information.
