Access violation vulnerability in Ultimate Member – User Profile, Registration, Login, Member Directory, Content Restriction & Membership Plugin 1.3.83

The Ultimate Member plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthenticated attackers executing arbitrary code. This is because versions up to and including 1.3.83 have a feature called ‘ultimatemember_frontend_modal’ AJAX action which allows for the execution of the ‘do_shortcode()’ function. This means that unauthenticated attackers can use this feature to execute any code they want.
