A popular WordPress plugin called “Tag, Category, and Taxonomy Manager – AI Autotagger with OpenAI” has a security vulnerability that allows hackers to access sensitive information from the database. This is because the plugin does not properly secure user-provided information and the existing SQL query. Hackers with contributor level access or higher can add their own code to the existing query and gain access to sensitive data. This vulnerability affects all versions of the plugin up to 3.40.1.
