Access violation vulnerability in ShortPixel Image Optimizer – Optimize Images, Convert WebP & AVIF 6.3.4

The ShortPixel Image Optimizer is a plugin for WordPress that helps optimize images and convert them to WebP and AVIF formats. However, it has a vulnerability that allows unauthorized people to change data without permission. This is because it does not have a proper check to make sure only certain people can use a feature called ‘shortpixel_ajaxRequest’. This means that someone with Contributor-level access or higher can export and import site options without permission.
