The Social Media Icons Widget plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to a type of security attack. Versions up to and including 1.6 have a flaw which does not properly validate certain requests. This means that an attacker who can get a site administrator to click on a link, could make a request that would be accepted without proper authentication.
