Input validation vulnerability in ThemeLoom Widgets 1.8.5

The ThemeLoom Widgets plugin for WordPress can be hacked through a vulnerability called Stored Cross-Site Scripting. This happens when the plugin’s ‘los_showposts’ shortcode is used, and it affects all versions up to, and including, 1.8.5. The problem is caused by not properly checking and filtering user-supplied information. This means that people with contributor-level access or higher can insert harmful web scripts into pages. These scripts will then run whenever someone visits the affected page.
