Access violation vulnerability in Academy LMS – eLearning and online course solution for WordPress 1.9.19

The Academy LMS is a tool that helps people learn and take courses online through a WordPress plugin. Unfortunately, there is a problem with this plugin in versions up to 1.9.19. It lets certain users, like students, change their user role to that of an administrator, which is a higher level of access. This can be done by making changes to user information using a function called saved_user_info().
