Denial of Service vulnerability in WP-Syntax 1.2

The WP-Syntax plugin used for WordPress has a security issue called Regex Denial of Service. This affects all versions of the plugin up to 1.2. The problem is that the plugin does not check the validity of a certain type of code before using it. This means that someone who is logged in and has Author-level access or higher can cause a small disruption in service by using this code.
