Access violation vulnerability in Hunk Companion 1.8.5

The Hunk Companion plugin for WordPress has a security flaw that allows unauthorized installation and activation of plugins. This is because the plugin does not check for the proper permissions on a specific API endpoint. This vulnerability exists in all versions up to 1.8.5. As a result, attackers without proper authentication can install and activate any plugin, which could lead to remote code execution if another vulnerable plugin is also installed. This is a bypass for CVE-2024-9707.
