    Hi there,

Today I’ve installed a ssl certificate via directadmin on my Centos server. After that I installed Really simple SSL and actived it. SSL was working but some redirect was causing my site to fail. I’ve disabled the ssl certificate via directadmin however when i try to get to my website example.nl/wp-admin i’m redirected to the HTTPS variant which gives me the following message:

The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Can anyone tell me how I can revert this change via SSH?

If you’re looking for a way to revert to http, you can follow these instructions:
    https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/uninstall-websitebackend-not-accessible/

That will change your site_url to http://. The https:// URL will redirect your site to https. As you’ve removed the SSL certificate, this doesn’t work anymore.

What about when you do have SSL? SSL works fine on my website root, but when the plugin is activate all of WordPress is down with “404” but the documents are there, including apache2 setup with SSL and correct virtualhost entry for SSL webroot as well.

If you create a txt file on your server, for example, test.txt, with some text in it. can you load this file over https directly? by typing in https://domain.com/test.txt?
