The scan has been running for several hours and visually it looks like about 20% finished. Is this normal?
No, if it takes that long, your scan probably freezes. It’s possible javascript errors, or a security plugin is blocking scan requests for some reason. You could try to deactivate the security plugin temporarily to check this. You can try these steps: https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/when-your-scan-freezes/
That worked. I was never able to do a full scan, but I was able to fix what the quick scan indicated. After activation I have a green padlock, so I guess all is well!
BTW, it could not have been easier. Well worth the cost of the premium to show me what needed my attention. Even for someone as ignorant as I am about the backend of websites.
