My site had an SSL certificate from 123-reg who are also my hosting company. The SSL certificate expired on Sunday and I only discovered this today when the site lost its https status and customer’s rang to query.

Previous certificate was registered on my site using ReallySimple SSL when we registered the certificate last time.

Purchased a new certificate and this was activated this afternoon. Have again used RSSSL plugin to register/install SSL certificate and several hours later it still says ‘Not private’

Is it possibly caching the old certificate? I did uninstall the plugin, then reinstall but same problem.

    Hi Matt,

Really Simple SSL doesn’t install the certificate for you, the plugin requires a valid certificate to be installed before it can work correctly. Your hosting provider is able to install the certificate for you.

Really Simple SSL is not caching the certificate. It is possible the server is caching it, or the update has not propagated yet, in which case the problem should resolve in a few hours. If not, I would recommend to contact your hosting company about this.
