I recently installed Really Simple SLL on my WordPress site. I noticed soon after that the styling on all my pages besides my landing page no longer exists. There’s no content on these pages either.

I wanted to get rid of the plugin so I went ahead and deleted it within WordPress and soon learned this was the incorrect way to uninstall it. The styling is still messed up even after deleting it.

I’ve done extensive research on why my styling is still astray. I’ve accessed my .htaccess file and wp-config.php files and I don’t see anything referencing Really Simple SLL, let alone https. I don’t even have a Really Simple SLL folder in my plugins folder. I’ve deleted my cache as well. Why is this plugin still having an affect on my site?

Please help me get my styling back in order. I have no idea what’s going on.

    Hi Harrison,

possibly the site still tries to load resources over https://. Usually this happens because of caching, you can try to clear all caches your website uses to see if that fixes the issue.

To make sure all changes have been undone you can check out the following article https://really-simple-ssl.com/knowledge-base/when-the-built-in-deactivation-does-not-work-manual-uninstalling/ for an overview of all the changes made by Really Simple SSL.

If you can provide us with your site address we can have a look as well.

    Hi Mark,

I reinstalled Really Simple SSL in the meantime and I’m still having issues. I will go ahead and clear my cache and see if that solves anything. My website is: https://ewisely.org/

When I inspect the empty pages it appears I have a 400 error.

I cleared the cache and it didn’t make a difference.

I have a 400 error linking to my admin-ajax.php file. Not sure what to change within there.

    Hi Harrison,

there indeed seems to be an admin-ajax.php error on some pages. Possibly this is caused by a plugin you use to show the frame. I’m not sure what this frame is supposed to show.
